Founded by a group of materials scientists and engineers from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Alpasun focuses on the development and supply of advanced thermal field materials and products. We provide end-to-end material engineering services — from technical consultation, material structural engineering/characterization to product manufacturing. We support industries requiring superior heat transfer/insulation performance in high-temperature environments.

Knowledge

Our core technical team members all have advanced degrees in MSE, physics or relevant STEM fields. Our Co-founder/technical lead, Peter Sun, recieved his Ph.D. in Physics in 2013 with a specialization in carbon nanocomposites for heat transfer applications. With over a decade of experience in researching and developing advanced materials for the U.S. market, Peter brings deep technical expertise and industry insight to Alpasun. He currently also serves as a Materials Research Scientist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a Senior Consultant at Xerion Advanced Materials Corporation.

Advanced Manufacturing & R&D Capabilities

Alpasun operates dedicated manufacturing facilities capable of customizing carbon fiber components for a wide range of thermal field applications. Our products include insulation felt and tubes, C/C composite panels, fixtures, crucibles, nuts and bolts, sleeves, crucible holders, rings, channels, and heaters — all engineered for high-performance and reliability.

Located on the UIUC campus, Alpasun’s R&D team has access to cutting-edge materials research and characterization facilities. We measure the structural, thermal, and mechanical properties of every product we produce, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and reliability across our portfolio.
